About the Position
This postdoctoral research position will investigate the contribution of cellular senescence to lung injury and inflammation using human models. The primary focus will be on employing a novel, high-content, image analysis-based cell painting assay to characterize senescent cells and their response to known senolytic drugs. The role also involves optimizing this process for high-throughput screening to discover new senolytic/senomorphic drugs from existing libraries, with lead candidates then tested in a human precision-cut lung slice model of irradiation-induced senescence.
Eligibility
- Experience preparing and working with human Precision Cut Lung Slices (PCLS)
- Extensive tissue culture experience, including established cell lines and primary cell culture
- Experience in characterization of cellular senescence
- Proficiency in imaging techniques such as multiplex – IHC and ICC, live cell imaging, and confocal microscopy
- Experience in assay development and standardization, including high-throughput applications
- Expertise in qRT-PCR and immunoassays including Flow Cytometry, ELISA/cytokine bead array, and Western blotting
Benefits
- Professional development and subject matter expertise
- Opportunities to develop new skills and broaden experience
- Engagement in leading-edge research
- Opportunities for publication
- Access to a range of benefits tailored to lifestyle
