About the Position
The postdoctoral researcher will conduct a critical and comparative analysis of central area requalification plans in Brazilian cities, specifically examining the urbanistic, normative, and operational tools employed. Key activities include comprehensive bibliographic and documentary research, developing and analyzing a comparative database, and evaluating Campinas's Complementary Law nº 395/2022 (Retrofit Law). The fellow will also assist in preparing reports, articles, and technical notes, and ensure methodological integration across various project facets.
Eligibility
- Doctorate in Architecture and Urbanism, Urban Planning, or Urban Management, obtained less than seven years ago.
- Degree in Architecture and Urbanism.
- Excellent academic record and research experience in urban planning, urban policy, or urbanism history.
- Proficiency in bibliographic and documentary research, and analysis of urbanistic and normative instruments.
- Fluency in spoken and written Portuguese.
- Reside in the state of São Paulo during the fellowship period.
- Availability to participate in in-person research activities in Campinas.
- Desirable: Experience with georeferencing and geoprocessing tools for urban studies (data organization, treatment, analysis, and spatial representation).
- Desirable: Consistent academic production with publications in well-regarded scientific journals in Architecture and Urbanism, Urban Planning, or related fields.
