About the Position
The research aims to design and develop artificial nanochannels that mimic the diverse sensory functions of biological mechanosensitive receptors. This involves crafting nanochannels from cutting-edge 2D materials like graphene to enable controlled ion flows that can distinguish between touch, force, pressure, and various physical stresses. Key objectives include designing nanochannels with variable sensitivity to mechanical stress, implementing selective ion permeability to differentiate stimuli, and integrating signal processing mechanisms to interpret ion flow patterns into distinct electrical signals.
