The Faculty of Economics at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava is seeking a Postdoc (researcher) in Economics and Business. This full-time position is open to both international and Czech PhD holders with relevant experience.
The successful candidate will engage in advanced empirical analysis, study phenomena in economics, finance, and business, and actively contribute to scientific publications in high-quality WoS journals.

About the Position
The Postdoc will be responsible for studying and evaluating phenomena within economics, finance, business, or related fields, utilizing advanced empirical analysis techniques. Key activities include active participation in internal meetings, presenting research results, and consistently writing and publishing scientific papers.
Eligibility
- PhD in economics or econometrics.
- No more than 5 years post-PhD (career breaks like maternity/parental leave or long-term illness are not included).
- For non-Czech nationals: PhD obtained abroad, not a resident of the Czech Republic, or not spent more than 12 months in the Czech Republic in the last 36 months.
- For Czech nationals: Long-term foreign experience (at least 12 continuous months out of the last 36 months in doctoral studies or employment at a foreign scientific institution, or a combination).
- Advanced skills in quantitative analysis.
- Scientific creativity and team spirit.
- Ability to conduct research independently.
- Experience in publishing in WoS journals.
- Active participation in internal meetings.
- Producing high-quality scientific publications.
